Eileen Tapp Ford
Eileen Tapp Ford, age 74, resident of Collierville, Tennessee and wife of Carl “Tuffy” Ford, departed this life Sunday evening, December 17, 2023 at her home.
Eileen was born April 28, 1949 in Somerville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Beryl McKee and Joseph H. Tapp, Sr. She was married November 1, 1968 to Carl Ford and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a previous member of Whitten Memorial Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was most recently a member of Collierville First Baptist Church. She was active in the PTA at Mt. Pisgah School and loved arranging, hosting and cooking for parties. Eileen was an artist who enjoyed working with ceramics.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband of 55 years, Carl “Tuffy” Ford of Collierville, TN; her daughter, Elizabeth Garland (Sean) of Collierville, TN; three sons, Jeremy Carl Ford (Christy) of Germantown, TN, Jason Ford (Stephanie) of Schertz, TX and Jacob Ford (Lindsey) of Moscow, TN; three brothers, Joseph Tapp (Jeanne) of Somerville, TN, Steve Tapp (Regina) of Somerville, TN and Andrew Tapp (Mellony) of Brighton, TN; eight grandchildren, Cim Ford, Aubrey Ford, Carole Ann Ford, Jewel Ford, John David Burns, Ben Ford, Evie Garland and Maddie Garland; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Laney.
A visitation for Mrs. Ford will be from 12 to 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Jason Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Hebron Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community of Fayette County. A reception will follow at Shiloh Methodist Community Church at 4220 Yum Yum Road, Somerville, TN 38068.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Cim Ford, Ben Ford, Nick Ussery, Rob Sutton, Howell Tapp and Josh Tapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Garland, Thomas Tapp, Barry Tapp, Harold Pattat, David Morris, Joe Scott, Jason McGarrh and John David Burns.
