Warming station to open in Hardin County for second year
HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. – An organization is aiming to help those in need this holiday season by providing them with a warm place to stay.
Voices of Savannah in Hardin County are hosting the second year of their warming station.
This is a location that allows the homeless or those without heat and electricity to stay.
While at the warming station, they will be served meals, given free farm clothes and shoes, and household items.
Mental health services, medical assistance, counseling, and case management will also be available at the warming station.
“The biggest part of prevention is providing resources and education. We want our community to know that though there are individuals in these different situations that we want to give them the tools,” said Deborah Shaw, the Director of Voices of Savannah.
The warming station is located at the Savannah First Assembly of God gymnasium at 115 Harbert Drive in Savannah.
