Weakley Co. deputies investigate home invasion robbery

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies are investigating a home invasion robbery in which a man was held at gunpoint in his home.

crime68.jpgDeputies responded just before 3 p.m. Friday to a reported armed robbery at a home in the 1200 block of Boydsville Road north of Dresden, according to a release from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.

A 52-year-old man told deputies he was inside asleep when awakened by a black man dressed in all white pointing a semiautomatic pistol at his head.

The gunman made the man lie on the bedroom floor while a second intruder also believed to be a black man took a .38 caliber Taurus pistol and a 20-gauge single-shot shotgun, according to the release.

The two men then left in a white, four-door car believed to be a Toyota Avalon possibly driven by a white man.

The victim told deputies he thinks he heard the intruders mention Memphis while inside the home.
