JPD: What goes up, must come down!
JACKSON, Tenn.—Reminder, celebratory gunfire can be fatal.
The Jackson Police Department is reminding residents that celebratory gunfire is not a safe way to celebrate the holiday.

The department took to social media to explain that not only is the practice illegal but also that celebratory gunfire is incredibly dangerous.
JPD explains how the bullets will always find their way back to the ground. These bullets could then very well impact vehicles, buildings, pets, or people.
Random bullets being fired have been known to cause injuries or even death. And often leads to the harm of innocent individuals.
JPD cited, “For those hit by falling bullets, the chance of the wound being fatal is far higher than a typical shooting.”
