Police investigate shooting at east Jackson apartments
UPDATE: The Jackson Police Department released the following information Thursday afternoon:
Officers with the Jackson Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of 304 Parkwood Trace. On January 3, 2024, at approximately 10:45 pm, police officers were dispatched to the location for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers made contact with one victim suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Personnel and treated for the injuries sustained. Officers moments later located another victim near Hwy 70 south of North Parkway suffering from a gunshot wound. Air-Evac transported the victim to a hospital in Memphis.

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting at an apartment complex.
Around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipsters alerted us to a heavy law enforcement presence in east Jackson.
Video shared with us shows several police vehicles responding to The Pointe at 731 apartments, located on Parkwood Trace.
We reached out to the Jackson Police Department who confirmed there was a report of shots fired.
As the investigation remains ongoing, police have not confirmed any further details with us at this time.
