Victim airlifted from shooting at east Jackson apartment
JACKSON, Tenn. — We received a call from a WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipster around 8 Sunday evening concerning a large police and EMS presence at the East Pointe apartment complex in east Jackson.
Upon arrival, we saw Jackson Police Department officers searching the ground with flashlights.
We also saw multiple shell casings, evidence markers, and police tape surrounding a staircase of one of the apartment buildings.
Officers on scene told us they arrived to find one male victim suffering what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. They did not name the victim.
Police say the victim is being transported to a Memphis hospital via helicopter.
