Black & Decker cancels second & third shifts, will reopen Friday morning

JACKSON, Tenn. — A spokesperson for Stanley Black & Decker says the plant will close their second and third shifts Thursday and will reopen at 7 a.m. Friday.

Jackson police have arrested a man they describe as a disgruntled employee who fired gunshots into several vehicles just before 10 a.m. Thursday in a parking lot outside the plant in north Jackson.

No one was injured.

The company said in a statement that the alleged gunman was a temporary employee.
