Motorists see cheapest summer at the pump in 12 years

JACKSON, Tenn. — With the Labor Day weekend bringing the summer to a close, travelers have enjoyed the cheapest summer at the pump since 2004.

gas-pumps.jpegMotorists have saved $18.9 billion this summer versus last summer, according to a release by GasBuddy. The national average for a gallon of fuel today is $2.21, making it 20 cents cheaper than this time last year.

With the estimated savings for drivers at the pump also comes an average of $320 dollars in savings per household.
