Cabin fever takes over the Hub City on the first day of snow

JACKSON, Tenn.– The Hub City has been covered in a blanket of snow which has left some some residents with cabin fever.

The snow may have closed some business but residents in Jackson have made some last minute stops in the snowy weather.

Two local residents of Jackson ran to Target to escape being stuck indoors.

“Honestly yes, I experienced cabin fever yesterday because I was just bored,” says one local resident.

“Yeah, I experienced it today. That’s why I’m out right now, today is the first time I’ve been out in 24 hours,” another resident says.

Stores such as Kroger and Target were open for shoppers to go in and grab groceries or snow items.

One local resident grabbed a last minute hat.

“I’m getting an inner tube to go sledding,” says one shopper.

“I’m gonna be finding myself a hat because I don’t have one,” says another shopper.

At Kroger one shopper was pleased with the snow and is excited to return home to continue her snow day.

“Yes, I was prepared and actually this was my favorite time of the year. I love this weather because it’s really rare that we get snow in Tennessee so yes, I love the snow I’ve been playing in it all morning, ” says one shopper leaving Kroger.

For some shoppers this wasn’t too bad of weather to do some last minute shopping or to escape their homes.

“I was prepared I was just looking forward to doing a little driving in it, not hard just gotta make sure to turn off traction control. Cause if its on, it’ll stop from spinning and you have to spin right now,” another shopper shares.

The snow was reported to be between 5 to 6 inches in Jackson and surrounding counties.
