Meta social media creates a safer platform for teenagers

JACKSON, Tenn.– One social media platform is taking safety precautions for one age group to enjoy social media.

The Meta team has created some new features that allows teenagers an experience that is catered to them.
There will be less advertising that is normally catered towards adults such as diet culture.
Ads will now be catered to teens interests that promotes education and fun.
However, the ads will be based on a teens location.
Another feature will be parental control that allows parents to have their ages selected prior to downloading the app.
“Signs to create an account on Instagram their put into a more private experience, same as on Facebook. We also to protect them from potentially unwanted contact on do not allow those  over the age 19 to directly message a minor,” Antigone Davis, head of global safety for Meta of Facebook.
Meta has also shared that bullying and or harassment will not be allowed on the app.
Meta platforms will overall be a safe platform for teenagers to enjoy.
