Paris Central Head Start holds ribbon cutting ceremony

PARIS, Tenn. – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday in honor of Paris Central Head Start.

The new center is located in the Central Community Service building in Paris.

This specific program, which opened on January 9, serves the three-year-olds of the Henry County community through two different classes.

There are currently 24 children involved.

Headstart was present at this same building in years past but ended more than a decade ago. So people in the community say they’re grateful for its return.

“It’s kind of a homecoming. They’ve come back and made major improvements to the old agriculture wing of this building, and we’re excited about the future with them and what they’re gonna bring back to West Tennessee. And especially Paris and Henry County for these three-year-olds,” said Henry County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway.

This program will help ease the transition into the already existing pre-k program for four-year-olds.
