2024 ‘Souper Bowl’ being held to fight hunger

JACKSON, Tenn. – RIFA is raising funds to help fight hunger in the community through the Souper Bowl of caring.

The Souper Bowl is a nationwide movement that has tackled hunger in local communities since 1990.

It first began with a prayer in a South Carolina church youth group and has raised over $193 million in its 33 years.

The event takes place leading up to the NFL Super Bowl, with volunteers encouraged to collect monetary donations.

“There’s room for more. So we would love to have churches, organizations, civic groups, student clubs to just come alongside us. We appreciate that,” said Denice Walton, the Community Relations Manager for RIFA.

Leading up to the NFL Super Bowl on February 11, local businesses, churches, schools, organizations, and individuals are invited to collect monetary donations.

The donations will be used by RIFA to battle hunger in the Hub City.

If you would like to help, you can call Walton at (731) 427-7963.
