Puttin’ for the Pets raises money for Jackson-Madison Co. Humane Society
JACKSON, Tenn. — Golfers hit the links Monday for a good cause.
The 18th annual Puttin’ for the Pets Golf Tournament took place at Jackson National Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society.
Organizers said more than a dozen teams participated. “We’re raising funds to keep our doors open,” Jackson-Madison County Humane Society President Lynn Caldwell said. “We’re currently not funded by federal, state, city or county government, so this is the way to give back.”
Caldwell said golfers also got to compete in a $10,000 putting contest.
The Humane Society said this is one of its biggest fundraisers of the year.
