Tina Turner Heritage Days rolling in Haywood County

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Fans from across six countries are in Haywood County this weekend to honor a local living legend.

For the fifth year the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center is celebrating Tina Turner Heritage Days. Although the Nutbush native isn’t in town, fans had cookbooks signed by Miss Robbie Montgomery, an original Ikette and star of the hit show Sweetie Pies.

Saturday night the fun continued with a Tina tribute show featuring Tina impersonators and music.

“We love her music, we love her energy and thanks to Sonia, the director, that brought us here to be apart of this event,” Tina Turner impersonator Larry Edwards said.

The tribute weekends finishes up Sunday morning with a farewell breakfast at 7:30, followed by morning worship at Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church.
