UT Martin students pack dozens of chemo care kits

MARTIN, Tenn. — UT Martin students have offered a helping hand for a worthy cause.

UT Martin alum Sidney Church is spearheading the making of chemotherapy care kits in honor of her father, who died of cancer in 2022.

The kits include items such as lotions, blankets, disinfecting wipes, socks, hand sanitizer, and other items a cancer patient may want to help them feel better.

Students also crocheted hats and made encouraging cards to add to the kits.

Wednesday night, students gathered to help pack 48 kits to be delivered to Baptist Cancer Center in Union City and Maury Regional Cancer Center in Columbia.

The kits will be delivered on Friday, just ahead of World Cancer Day on February 4.
