On June 14, the Rockabillys will present a re-enactment of a big game between the Rockford Peaches and the Racine Belles.

The Rockabillys event will be called “A Game of Their Own” as a tribute to the successful movie “A League of Their Own.”

This will consist of two teams of women dressed in replica clothing of the movie to play a seven-inning baseball game.

The Rockabillys are looking for 22-28 women who have been former softball or baseball players. The minimum entry age is 18.

“We’ve sent out questionnaires to women and went on social media if people want to apply and try out. As of 9:00 [Thursday] morning, we’ve had 166 ladies from several states,” said Dennis Bastien, with the Jackson Rockabillys.

The tickets will go on sale March 4.
