RIFA’s ‘Canstruction’ helps fight hunger in West Tennessee

JACKSON, Tenn.-One of the most creative ways to fight hunger in West Tennessee is through RIFA’s ‘Canstruction’.

Teams began building out their structures, Tuesday, made completely of non-perishable foods.
From businesses to schools to groups of teens, 14 teams are participating this year, by showcasing their creativity and benevolence.

“They are real food. They are real help for people who need it and all of the structures combined symbolize 20,000 pounds or more of food that is going into our community,” said Chelsea Cobb with RIFA.

This is the 12th year for ‘Canstruction’. Thursday night, RIFA will hosts its gala, a fundraiser featuring Christian music artist Michael W. Smith. Tickets are still available.
