JMC Library presents banned book display
JACKSON, Tenn.-The Jackson-Madison County Library wants you to check out a display of very unique books.
The library is celebrating National Banned Book Week, by displaying as a variety of books that are considered controversial.
The display includes facts and information on why the book was banned.
Organizers said it is an event they want the community to take part in.
“I hope people come to the library and see our display that they can be thankful that we live a country like the United States where we do have the freedom to read books and they can appreciate those freedoms and can come explore,” said Jencie Spradlin, Adult Services librarian with JMC Library.
The library is also displaying a fun “mugshot” feature to spotlight anyone “caught” reading the banned book.
The display will be up for the rest of the week at the Jackson-Madison County Library in downtown Jackson.
