15th annual Cotton Bowl Cup Race set for this Friday and Saturday
ATWOOD, Tenn.-Clayhill Motorsports Speedway is set to hold its 15th annual Cotton Bowl Cup, beginning Friday night.
Organizers told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News it is their biggest race of the year.
The speedway expects 150 cars to race in nine different classes, with drivers coming in from seven different states.
A Cotton Bowl spokesman said what makes the event so exciting.
“The excitement on the dirt racing is just incredible from the sliding into the corners to, you know, the dirt flying, it’s just incredible racing action. There will be three and four-wide on this track and the excitement is just going to be non-stop,” said Blake Hagen with Cotton Bowl Promotions.
The racing kicks off Friday at 7 p.m. and will run through Saturday.
General admission is free.
