Roy Shelby Daniel
Roy Daniel was born in Dozier, Alabama on July 16, 1939 to the late Mary Jane Fleet and Ester Daniel. He departed this life on Wednesday January 31, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family.
He received his education at West High School and later joined the U.S. Navy. He served in Vietnam War as a Boiler Technician E4. He received his honorable discharge December 28, 1964. He rendered many years of employment as a professional truck driver.
Roy was united in holy matrimony to the late Margaret Ann Daniel on May 19, 1966. The union was blessed with two sons, David and Kenneth Daniel, and three daughters, Kimberly McFarland, Kathy Daniel and Constance Warlick.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ester Daniel and Mary Jane Fleet, his wife Margaret Ann Daniel, son Kenneth Roy Daniel, stepfather Clyde Fleet, a sister Murlee (Walter) Turner and brothers Joseph Daniel and Raymond Daniel Sr., sisters-in-law Earnice Godwin Daniel and Lucille Moore Daniel. Also, several nieces and a nephew.
Left to Cherish his memories are his children Kim (Tony) McFarland, Kathy Daniel, David (Cristen) Daniel and Constance (Lathan) Warlick. A total of 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also, sisters-in-law Mayreen Girly and Kay Jones. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Daniel will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at the Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery at Parker’s Crossroads at 1:30 p.m.
