Girl Scout cookie season begins in West Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Girl Scouts Heart of the South started their cookie distribution last week.
Through the cookie program, the girls earn rewards but also learn various skills from setting goals to managing money.
Starting Friday, there will be booths at different locations like outside Lowe’s and Kroger stores.
There are also Girl Scouts going door-to-door and selling cookies online.
The Toffee-tastic is a delicious gluten-free option.
The newest cookie is the Adventureful which tastes like a brownie with a caramel center.
“The Samoa and the Thin Mint are the most popular. Those two cookies for our council account for 50 percent of our sale,” said Debra Martin, a West Tennessee Membership Manager for Girl Scouts Heart of the South.
Seven different varieties of Girl Scout cookies are $5 a box and two specialty flavors that are $6 a box.
