BradenHealth execs speak to legislators about rural hospitals

JACKSON, Tenn. – A company took to Nashville to create statewide legislation to keep rural hospitals afloat.

Kyle Kopec, co-founder of BradenHealth, along with senior leadership in the company testified in Nashville to the health and wellness committee.

The company shared its experience with tackling what they call the “rural hospital crisis” in Tennessee.

They also included changes to the Tennessee code by including seven bills in a legislative package.

Four of these of major significance were the “Save Rural Hospitals Act,” “Save Rural Ambulances Act,” “Protect Tennesseans from Bad Actors Act,” and “Tennessee Hospital Transparency Act.”

“I think these bills sponsored by Senator Jackson and Senator Wally is the difference between the success of the rural healthcare system in this state or its failure,” Kopec said.

BradenHealth executives hope the testimony will serve as an opportunity for state leaders to learn from the organization and allow for changes to the Tennessee code to protect rural hospitals from possible failures in the future.
