JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson Planning Commission met Wednesday to discuss some upcoming changes and new additions.
On the agenda was consideration of a request to close or abandon a portion of Auditorium Street.
According to the commission, they plan to close the portion of Auditorium Street from Institute to Chester Street.
It’s needed for the new public safety building for the fire and police department. However, it’s still in preliminary phases.
Also on the agenda was consideration of preliminary site plans for a new hotel in the Park Place West area near the ballpark, and a new restaurant called Jonathan’s Grille.
“There’s a lot of growth coming to Jackson. It has been coming to Jackson for quite a while, and now it’s starting to escalate even more. Just keep your eyes out,” said Wayne Arnold, a member of the Jackson Planning Commission.
