West Tennessee Boy Scouts to host Scouting Banquet on Feb. 27

Jackson, Tennessee — (Feb. 8, 2024) — The West Tennessee Area Council of Boy Scouts of America will hold its annual Celebration of Scouting Banquet Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, 400 S. Highland Ave., in Jackson, Tennessee. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.
The 2024 Celebration of Scouting keynote speaker is Allen “Erv” Ervin, a sports performance coach and former NFL and CFL running back. Ervin is a Christian, father and Eagle Scout dedicated to serving student-athletes. His lifelong mission has been to share his God-given passion and encourage others to achieve their goals through hard work, integrity and perseverance.
“This event is not just a recognition of individual excellence but a testament to the enduring values and influence of Scouting in shaping leaders and bettering our community,” said Clint Beilke, Volunteer Vice Chair of the Banquet. “Attendees will include West Tennessee businesses and community leaders as well as those individuals who believe in the difference Scouting programs make in our youth and community.”
The council will honor James E. Ross as the 2023 Recipient of the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. There will also be a presentation honoring Dr. Paul Caudill’s legacy through the creation of the Dr. Paul Caudill Memorial Campership Fund.
