Thursday shooting at Lincoln Courts leaves one person dead

JACKSON, Tenn. – A shooting occurred Thursday night, leaving one person dead.

Several residents were heard throughout this live video courtesy of Tracy Boyd.

One woman could even be heard in the video referencing the hospital.

We were informed after 10:30 p.m. last night of a shooting that took place on the 100 block of Lincoln Circle. 

Upon arrival, we witnessed multiple Jackson Police cars, crime scene tape, and evidence markers on the ground.

Nearby, residents were outside and officers were also getting statements on the scene.

A crime scene photographer was also spotted taking photos.

According to a statement released by Jackson Police, officers were dispatched to Lincoln Circle for a Shotspotter alert.

While en route, officers were advised of a person possibly shot at 146 Lincoln Circle.

When officers arrived, they located a 33-year-old male lying on the ground at the back of the home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services where the victim died from his injuries.

This investigation is still ongoing.
