3 Henderson Co. women charged in string of identity thefts
HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Three Henderson County women are arrested on a host of identity theft charges. It’s a new development in a story we were first to tell you about in June.
Deputies said at least for one of the women, her alleged crimes didn’t stop even after she was arrested.
A case file filling up two large binders sits on Henderson County Capt. Tracey Grisham’s desk. He said it’s full of paperwork involving three women and their attempts of identity theft.
Stacy Stines was charged in June with attempting to steal the identities of at least five people. “After she made bond, she was allowed to move into a house by an elderly lady that had been vacant,” Capt. Grisham said.
Some of the elderly lady’s personal items were still in the house, and Stines began applying for credit cards in the woman’s name, according to Grisham.
“The lady’s son had the mail forwarded to his residence, and he started to receive credit card information on his mother,” Grisham said.
Investigators have also charged Stines’ daughter, Devan, with nearly 20 counts.
Grisham said they have proof the Stines would apply for credit cards with the same company using the same victim’s info.
“Her and her mom are charged on a lot of the same ones. They’re living in the same house,” Grisham said.
Stines’ former friend, Anna Rich, is charged with 34 counts of identity theft. Investigators said in one instance she even maxed out a $500 credit card on small purchases like fast food.
Both the Stines are free on bond. Rich is being held at the Henderson County Criminal Justice Complex without bond.
Stines is also facing theft charges for allegedly taking four vehicles that did not belong to her to sell at a scrap yard, according to Grisham.
