Church leaders host Wednesday community fellowship, prayer service
JACKSON, Tenn.-A Jackson church that held special Wednesday night services throughout the city all summer long hosted an almost-fall fellowship Wednesday night.
Leaders with the Campbell Street Church of Christ invited people from neighborhoods across Jackson to come together at North Park for free food and to pray for the Hub City.
Organizers said they wanted to continue the momentum of the weekly prayer gatherings from over the summer and once again bring the entire community together.
“It’s easy to kind of put religion in a box, it’s something you do in a building on Sundays and maybe Wednesdays and this is just more real life, it’s people getting together, sharing their honest concerns and frustrations and problems,” said Ryan Malecha, a community prayer volunteer with Campbell Street Church of Christ.
Church leaders said they hope to have even more gatherings like these throughout the fall.
