West Tenn. man indicted on charges of selling heroin that caused fatal overdose
LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Tenn. — A West Tennessee man accused of distributing a large amount of heroin that resulted in the fatal overdose of at least one person has been indicted.
Marvin Foster, aka “Pookie,” 49, of Halls is charged with distributing more than 100 grams of heroin throughout Lauderdale, Tipton and Dyer counties between January 2013 and January 2015, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The heroin distributed by Foster is responsible for the death of at least one person, according to the release.
Foster was indicted Sept. 29 on one count of possession with the intent to distribute and to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin, which resulted in the death of a person, the release states.
He is scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court Oct. 24.
If convicted, Foster faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $10 million, according to the release.
