Milan seniors treated to ‘Presley and Pizza’ Valentine celebration
MILAN, Tenn. — On this day of love, one senior center hosted a “Presley and Pizza” Valentine’s Day celebration.
Guests enjoyed a pizza luncheon while being entertained by the musical sounds of Ben Rainey, who performed gospel and love songs by Elvis Presley and other artists.
The City of Milan Senior Citizens Center is a place for senior citizens ages 60 and older to come for recreation, physical fitness, educational programming, commodities, health screenings, and more.
“A lot of our seniors love Elvis Presley, they know all of his songs, so that’s something that would be fun for them to experience today,” said Director Jenny Dodson. “All of us here together, I think we’ve got about seventy inside right now, so we’re just really happy that they did decide to spend it with us.”
Many seniors may not have someone to spend Valentine’s Day with, so today’s event was a time for community and joy.
