Authorities make multiple arrests in Brownsville for drug, weapon charges

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A local Drug Task Force announces multiple arrests in Brownsville for drug and weapon charges.

According to the West Tennessee Drug Task Force – 28th, 29th, 30th Districts, agents assisted by the Brownsville Police Department served a search warrant Tuesday on Coach Street.

There, a loaded semi-automatic handgun with laser sights, which was thrown behind a couch upon authorities entering, was recovered from a convicted felon.

The task force says around 1/4 pound of marijuana intended for resale was also recovered.

Two people, whose identities have not been confirmed, were arrested on felony charges.

Later Tuesday afternoon, the task force says agents conducted a traffic stop on Dove Drive, where a fully loaded short barrel rifle was recovered, along with marijuana. According to the task force, one person was arrested on misdemeanor drug and weapon charges.
