‘Women in Business’ conference held Thursday in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Dream Center held an event Thursday for women in business, at their new location located at 59 Oil Well Road in Jackson.
Their objective is to give hope to the hopeless.
Participants enjoyed a meal while they had the opportunity to meet other women in business.
Gail Gustafson, Dream Center Executive Director, was so appreciative for these ladies coming out.
“We are so blessed to be not scattered over Jackson and Humboldt and everywhere else, and be in one building together and it just makes life easier,” Gustafson said.
Gustafson stated that they center has about 27 kids right now, one being a baby that was just born on Sunday.
“And just to see them out front and being able to ride their bikes and be safe in this place is just fabulous,” said Gustafson. “It just makes my heart feel great.”
Gustafson went on to tell the ladies the purpose of the center.
“We are transitional housing for women and women with children,” Gustafson said. “We house them, clothe them, feed them, and help them find jobs. Help them to get on their feet and become self-sufficient in every aspect of their life.”
Gustafson also stated that do-overs are something in life that we all need.
“This is a do-over place and if you’re willing to put in the work, you will accomplish your goals,” Gustafson said.
Gustafson also thanked those who help her make events like this possible.
The servers in black, who Gustafson stated are the best to work with, along with the ladies in blue, who she stated are extraordinary volunteers.
“You will never get a better employee than Dream Center girls. I can guarantee you that. They are incredible,” Gustafson said.
Gustafson also stated that their next venture for the Dream Center is creating a gymnasium.
