‘Recycling Roundup’ to be held in Jackson March 2

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local residents in Jackson and surrounding communities are encouraged to bring their hard-to-recycle items to a “Recycling Roundup” event coming to the Hub City.

It will be at the Rockabilly Baseball park on Saturday, March 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to bring electronics, tires, scrap metal, and more.

This event is one of many being organized by the Tennessee Environmental Council.

TEC’s goal is to reduce illegal dumping and litter across Tennessee.

This program is free and open to all residents.

“We really enjoy coming into a community and meeting community members as they drop things off,” said Ginger Reasonover with TEC. “We have found that most people really, really want to recycle, they just don’t know how.”

This is TEC’s first roundup of the year after completing 10 events across the state last year, where they recycled over 233,000 pounds of materials.

This event is sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency.
