Doctors embracing AI to improve time spent with patients

JACKSON, Tenn. — Doctors are embracing AI to improve the crucial one-on-one time that they spend with their patients.

Doctors are now using AI in the exam room through their mobile devices for ambient listening.

Ambient listening interprets the patient/physician conversation in real time and provides a complete summary of the visit within thirty seconds.

This allows the doctor to focus solely on their patient conversation and examination, instead of also writing notes.

“This is good AI, this is not something that patients should be afraid of,” said Dr. Robert Murry, Chief Medical Officer at NextGen Healthcare. “It’s just helping the doctor do what they need to do so that the doctor can actually spend more quality time with you as a patient.”

Other ways AI is improving healthcare includes analyzing patient medical records, scans, and images to identify patterns that may indicate early stages of diseases, allowing for timely intervention and treatment.
