Woman charged with trying to return stolen items for cash

JACKSON, Tenn. — Police have arrested a woman over an alleged shoplifting scheme.

Court documents say employees at the Kohl’s on Vann Drive saw a man hand over items Tuesday to Melanie Page inside the store and that Page then tried to return them for cash.

Police say the man had not bought the items but had handed them over to Page for a fraudulent return.

The documents say Page also tried to make fraudulent returns Jan. 16 at Gander Mountain.

She remains in custody in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
