Bailey to headline annual Creative Writing Workshop Feb. 29

JACKSON, Tenn. — English professor and novelist Christine Bailey will be the featured speaker at Union University’s 31st annual Creative Writing Workshop for West Tennessee high school students Feb. 29.

Bailey, professor of English at Union, writes young adult fiction and is the author of several novels. Her most recent book, “Burning Little Lies,” was published earlier this month. Other titles to her credit include “The Letter Project,” “The Broken One,” “Waking Under Water” and “Girl in the Middle.”

Prior to joining the Union faculty, Bailey worked as a journalist, a marketing and public relations writer and a book editor. She is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University, with master’s degrees from Belmont University and Murray State University and a doctorate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Bailey will speak at 1 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center. A book signing and reception will follow.

The event is free and open to the public.
