Church service celebrates Black History Month

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local church celebrates Black History month.

Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson celebrated Black History month with a special service.

The service took place at 11 this morning at 33 Cotton Grove Road in Jackson.

The congregation enjoyed worshiping together and listening to teachings from guest speaker, Jackson Attorney and Evangelist, Marcus Reeves.

Senior Pastor J.P. Scott says that Black History should be celebrated all year long and not contained to a single month.

“I think it’s important that our young people know our history and what the achievement of black people, what we have achieved,” Pastor Scott said.

A dinner was also served following the program offering members and guests a time to fellowship.

The church will celebrate its 129th anniversary next month.
