Mekhi Morris signs on to play soccer at the University of Alabama Huntsville

JACKSON, Tenn.—Madison Academic boys soccer player, Mekhi Morris has put the pen to the paper.

That’s right, today he signed on to continue his academic and athletic career with the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

He was a part of the state championship team last year and his preparation for the game in general, started from a young age. One of the big reasons for him attending this school is because his friend and former teammate Donovan Pruitt signed there last year.

We caught up with the future Charger and he spoke about how he is there for more than just soccer, what motivates him and what makes him so great.

“It’s an amazing feeling. I plan to do great things while I’m up there, not just sports wise but also education wise, I’m just really excited. My parents have always been my motivation. My coach, Coach JJ, definitely supported me even when I didn’t believe in myself to get to this level and I’m always thankful for all of them and all their efforts. Just honestly, as my coaches always say, just getting touches on the ball everyday really prepares you, just those small things on the field just come easy to you and with time will come natural to you,” Morris said.
