Congressman David Kustoff secures funding for West Tennessee highway projects

WASHINGTON, D.C.–Congressman David Kustoff (R) TN 8th Congressional Dist. has secured $10 million for the Tennessee Department of Transportation to complete the widening of two sections of Interstate 69, also known as the Troy By-Pass.

Once completed, the Troy By-Pass will allow for the future connection of I-69 to Kentucky in the north, and Interstate 155 in Dyersburg, to the south.

Additionally, Kustoff secured $5 million to add more lanes to Highway 641 in Henry County from Howard Road to the Kentucky State Line.
Specifically, it will widen U.S. 641 to four-lanes from Paris, into Kentucky.

Kustoff stated, “Updating our highway system is crucial to effectively move people and products across West Tennessee.”

Both of these fundings were included in the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and related agencies Appropriations Act that the House of Representatives passed on March 6.
