Lambuth to welcome alumni classes for 25th and 50th anniversaries

JACKSON, Tenn. — An annual event returns to celebrate the alumni of a local university.

The University of Memphis at Lambuth alumni chapter is holding True Blue Day to honor alumni and friends of Lambuth.

The all-day event is next Saturday, the 23rd, with registration starting at 9 a.m. at the student union on campus.

The event will feature lunch, honoring classes, dinner and awards.

This year’s event will specifically recognize the classes of 1974 and 1999 for their 25th and 50th anniversary, respectively.

However, Lambuth isn’t only focused on the past.

“Lambuth actually started in 1843 and the Lambuth Board is starting something called an 1843 society where people can contribute some money that will go towards scholarships for future students,” said Bill Brewer, Alumni board and CEO of Mental Health and Developmental Services.

The night before True Blue Day there will be an informal gathering at Hub City Brewery.
