Fleet Feet’s St. Patrick’s Day 5K gets runners on the move in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Green means go! Residents stayed on the move at one event last weekend.

Fleet Feet hosted their very first 5K run for St. Patrick’s Day.

Participants signed a waiver to participate in the run.

This event was open to everyone.

T-shirts, along with beaded necklaces, were passed out to every runner.

Participants had the choice of a 1K or 5K to run in.

This event will return next year, but a date has not been set yet.

“Just being active, to me, is a big game changer, because it gets you outside, Vitamin D,” said Lauren McGee, director of Fleet Feet 5K. “It gets you talking to people. It gets you moving forward. To me, the act of walking or even running is just so powerful that it does create community.”

A cookout was held afterwards for everyone to enjoy.
