A sweet surprise in McKenzie, Dem Cookiez hosts soft opening

MCKENZIE, Tenn. — Good news for those with a sweet tooth, a new specialty cookie shop has opened in McKenzie.

Located on 37 Broadway street, Dem Cookiez had their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony today, March 18th, at 11am.

The shop started out doing preorders and pop up events.

Dem cookiez specializes in jumbo gourmet cookies made from scratch.

This week they introduced their first cookie sandwich.

“Our menu is actually based around six flavors each week give or take. We always do a signature milk chocolate chip and then we kinda just go along with a theme or just whatever we kinda feel like branches it out each week,” said Lacey Prater, owner and Head Baker at Dem Cookiez.

This week is the bakery’s soft opening.

They’re open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until they sell out.
