Metro Narcotics Unit raids midtown home; seizes weapons, drugs
JACKSON, Tenn. — A viewer tip early Wednesday morning led our cameras to the scene at a home in midtown Jackson where authorities say they found drugs and weapons.
Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser said the Metro Narcotics Unit executed a narcotics search warrant around 6 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of Campbell Street.
“We’ve got multiple people in custody detained at this time,” Chief Wiser said.
The homeowner, Paul Stanley, said the tenant at the home was the only tenant he had rented to at this house and that he never suspected anything.
“I am shocked. I mean, I am shocked,” Stanley said. “I just couldn’t believe it. It must have been a pretty big drug bust to see this many officers here at the time.”
Stanley said he had asked the tenant to leave because of his dogs but knew nothing of the drugs.
“His agreement was to be out by January the first, and that way I could have my house back and I could get it fixed back up,” Stanley said.
Chief Wiser said they have taken multiple people into custody, and charges will follow as the investigation continues.
“They recovered multiple weapons and drugs at this location,” Chief Wiser said. “Right now, they are in the preliminary stages of the investigation, so details are kind of limited.”
Chief Wiser said the suspects charged should appear in court Thursday morning.
