TN Secretary of State visits Jackson, shares new initiative

JACKSON, Tenn. —  The Jackson Rotary Club welcomes guest speaker and Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett today at the final meeting of this month.

Hargett highlighted his Businesses Against Trafficking Program, aimed to give employers the ability to provide their employees with training on how to identify, prevent, and report human trafficking.

Part of this initiative is to engage individuals in public awareness and education campaigns and to share those practices with the Secretary of State’s office.

Hargett also expands on the importance of being a registered voter, and says the best way to make your voice heard in government is to cast a vote.

“When you don’t do that, what you’re doing is known as giving the keys of power of government to those that do. The first part of that process is being a registered voter and getting in the game by going to vote this August and November,” said Hargett.

A good way for Tennessee voters to find out when and where to vote is by downloading the GoVoteTN app.
