The importance of vet checkups and routine care for pets

JACKSON, Tenn. — During lockdown, nearly one-in-five American households adopted a pet.

Pandemic puppies and kittens are now entering adulthood and pets adopted as adults are approaching their senior years.

As pets age and change, so do their needs.

They might need a change in nutrition, activity level, preventative care or more.

It’s important for pet parents to understand the varying life stages.

“The same way that you and I would go to the doctor and get our check ups and our vaccines, our pets need that too and vets recommend a check up once a year to really help prevent and identify any conditions that might arise early,” said Kathy Buccio a TV Host, Lifestyle Expert and Producer .

Home adaptations, like orthopedic beds, are also recommended for older pets.

Along with joint and fatty supplements to help with mobility.
