Jackson Fire Department comments on Lincoln Courts fire

JACKSON, Tenn. — Thanks to the quick response of the Jackson Fire Department, they were able to not only contain a fire but save lives.

“This morning at approximately 6:30, I received a phone call from dispatch that there was a working fire at the address shown, 140c Lincoln Circle and to dispatch to this location.” said Jackson Fire Marshall, Latrell Billingsley.

Billingsley told us what he saw when he arrived on the scene.

“On my arrival, I was informed that there was a family. A family I believe of 7 or 8 individuals. A mother and her 6 children. I believe the father was at work at the time we were informed about the fire,” said Billingsley.

The reason behind the fire is still being investigated.

“Right now, it’s currently under investigation. We’re ruling out certain other causes right now, so as we gather other information, get our witness statements and our documentation and samples to the lab, we’ll determine what may have caused this fire a little further as we move forward. (butted) TBI has been called in to help with this investigation. JPD is also on this investigation with us as well we are going to do our due diligence to see that we find out what caused this fire and try to bring some closure to this family and help this family out as well the best way we can,” said Billingsley.
