Johnny Carter

Johnny Carter, 71, of Hickman, Kentucky passed away 5:21 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Cayce Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.

Johnny was born October 11, 1952, in Clinton, Kentucky, son of the late James Earl and Louise (Hopper) Carter. He married Susan (Forbus) Carter January 15, 1971. Johnny retired from Vaughn Electric in Union City and was a member of David’s Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and sitting on his front porch waving at his neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Carter of Hickman, Kentucky; one daughter, Lorrie Browning (Brad) of Martin; four grandchildren, Amya Siglow of Jackson, John Michael Winters (Samantha) and Jaxon Carter Winters all of Hickman, Kentucky and Bryan Thomas Winters (Mary) of Dyersburg; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Hopper of Cayce, Kentucky and Joanie Cruce (Dickie) of Rapid City, South Dakota; one brother, Ed Carter (Mina) of Clinton, Kentucky; three sisters-in-law, Linda Carter of Arnold, Missouri, Vicky Carter of Fulton, Missouri and Deana Carter of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leisha Winters; two sisters, Virginia Peery and Jane Dublin; and five brothers, Jim Carter, Joe Neal Carter, Bobby Carter, Sr., Tommy Carter and Bill Carter.
