Jackson Police Dept. shares Halloween safety tips

JACKSON, Tenn. — As part of wishing everyone a happy and safe Halloween, the Jackson Police Department has provided a list of safety tips.

Halloween bats resize1. First and most importantly, watch out for one another and work together as a community to keep each other safe.

2. Have a responsible adult traveling routes with kids.

3. Carry a flashlight, chem stick or anything that can be visibly seen in low-light conditions.

4. Be careful when crossing streets; avoid crossing in the middle of a street.

5. Use sidewalks if possible; avoid walking in the streets.

6. Avoid allowing kids to eat treats until examined by an adult.

7. Avoid going to unfamiliar areas or neighborhoods.

8. If driving, be careful while in neighborhoods because kids can dart out from anywhere.

9. Keep a cell phone handy in case of an emergency.

10. Lastly, help the police in keeping this community safe by obtaining as much information as possible on suspicious activities. If we work together, we can have an enjoyable Halloween.
