Free upcoming events by the Children’s Theater Company in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — One company kicks off the Easter weekend, by bringing community service and social action through the arts.

The Children’s Theater Company of New York comes to Jackson.
Free events will take place on March 29th and March 30th.
On the 29th, the young cast members of the CTC will partner with Keep Jackson Beautiful, Community Garden Cafe, and City of Jackson’s ‘Love Your Block’ to plant flowers and vegetables for the real message of Easter.

Then on the 30th, hosted at the Ned, the CTC will have a full musical showcase, featuring highlights of the Lorax and Rescue Me: A Musical History of Women, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“It gives them confidence, it gives them a different vocabulary, a way of communicating and expressing themselves. It helps them understand other lives not lived. Enhancing empathy and compassion. So it really does a lot. It really is a powerful discipline,” said Nancy Nelson Ewing, Educational Consultant and Diversity Facilitator.
The free tickets will be automatically entered for full scholarships to Children’s Theater Company.
