DSAR hosts ceremony to honor Vietnam veterans

JACKSON, Tenn. — March 29th is Vietnam Veterans Day in Jackson and Madison County, and two chapters are taking time to honor Vietnam veterans.

A Ceremony is being hosted by the Jackson-Madison and James Madison chapter of the Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution.

The ceremony honors the service, sacrifice, and achievements of Vietnam War veterans who served.

The special day recognizes the nine million U.S. armed forces and uniformed services personnel with active-duty service between November 1st 1955, and May 15th 1975, regardless of location of service.

“We continue to support veterans from all our wars in the United States this fall. But today is your day,” said Larry Newsom James Madison SAR President.

More than 20 veterans were presented a certificate of honor and a Vietnam War 50th commemoration lapel pin during the ceremony.
