Madison Co. church offers alternative to Halloween trick-or-treating

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-While many kids went door-to door in search of Halloween goodies, one area church opened up its parking lot for trick-or-treaters to collect all the treats they could carry.

Liberty Grove Baptist Church in south Madison County held its annual ‘trunk or treat’ event, Monday night.
Church leaders said they wanted to be able to let kids from all over come out to trick-or-treat in a safe, family-friendly environment.

“They can kind of just let em go for a minute, cause everybody is in a confined area and just feel safe for their kids and especially in the day and time we live in, you want a safe place to take em,” said Pastor Tim Bass of Liberty Grove Baptist Church.

Leaders said this is the 3rd year the church has held a ‘trunk or treat’, with around 100 kids coming out Monday night.
